Ben Atkinson

Web Design and Development

Ben has been designing websites for over ten years and is fluent in a wide range of programming languages, including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and PHP, as well as the WordPress content management system for which he has designed and built a diverse collection of themes and plugins. Ben approaches projects in an agile way and has worked with businesses in the UK and around the world to both design and develop websites and interactive web projects. From 2014 – 2017 Ben ran a full-time web development agency, Tall Lime Ltd.

Much of Ben’s work over the years has been with small business, community and charitable enterprises. He has been lucky enough to work on projects for international companies and campaigns such as the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery (RAGAS) site and ParadigmYP, a pioneering campaign to include first-aid training on the UK national curriculum which gained the support of cross-party MPs and other leading figures. For several years, Ben worked closely with the Lincolnshire based British Growers Association and during the partnership designed and built the national promotional websites for British Carrots, British Onions and the Brassica and Leafy Salad Conference.

Alongside his work in Higher Education, Ben has designed and built a number of research website and interactive web tools for academic University and research audiences. These include the Centre for Entangled Media Research at the University of Lincoln and Environmental Resistance, a UK based photography and media research collective.

Below you will find a selection of Ben’s previous web design and development work. Further projects can be found on the Tall Lime website.
